LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Two people died in a tragic fire in Marion County, Kentucky Monday morning.
The two victims have been identified as 60-year-old Thomas Wayne Cundiff and his wife, 71-year-old Mary Rose Cundiff of Holy Cross, Ky.
According to a news release from Kentucky State Police, multiple fire departments were dispatched to a fire on Holy Cross Rd., near the intersection of New Haven Road and N. St. Francis Road, in Loretto, Ky. The first calls about the fire cam in shortly after 3:30 a.m.
Authorities say the fire was extinguished, but a mobile home was destroyed in the flames. After an inspection, fire officials found Mr. and Mrs. Cundiff at the scene.
Autopsies will be performed, according to a news release.
The cause of the fire was not immediately determined. Arson investigators are examining the case, but police say they do not believe foul play was involved.
