Bill Collins Ford employee dies in workplace accident

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- An employee of Bill Collins Ford has died in a tragic workplace accident, according to the Jefferson County Coroner's Office.

The incident took place at Bill Collins Ford, near the intersection of Bardstown Rd. and Fegenbush Lane.

We're told that 50-year-old Norman Kiper of Frankfort, Ky., was sitting at his desk in the service department, when a co-worker got into a vehicle and engaged the handicapped-accessible accelerator pedal. That caused the vehicle to drive forward into Kiper, pinning him between the vehicle and his desk, a deputy-coroner states.

Kiper was transported to University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 12:45 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 6, according to the coroner's office.
