Water main break leaves 200 Metro employees without restrooms

Posted: Updated:

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The cold weather is causing problems for Metro Government today.

A water main break happened around 6 a.m. in front of the Metro Development Center on 5th St. The building houses the Dept. of Public Works, Inspections and Licenses and several other city departments.

For the 200 employees who work there, no restrooms or water were available all day.

"We have no restrooms," said Harold Adams, of the Dept. of Public Works. "So they're having to go to MetroSafe next door, or to the old jail a little down the street, or people are being allowed to work from home."

Crews expect the water line to be repaired by Wednesday morning.
