LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A broken water pipe inside University of Louisville residence hall is now fixed.
The pipe in Bettie Johnson Hall affects the sprinkler system on the first floor of the residence hall, the school said. To comply with fire and safety codes students were forced to evacuate the building. The 109 students living on that floor were allowed to return to their rooms around 1:45 Wednesday morning.
Students who live on upper floors of the four-floor Bettie Johnson Hall were allowed back in their rooms late Tuesday evening, the school said.
Crews did have to clean"minor damage" to seven rooms and two hallways.
