Posted: Updated:

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The grandmother of the victims in a fatal New Albany house fire says her 5-year-old granddaughter is improving at an Indianapolis hospital.

Dawn Marie Clark tells WDRB that her granddaughter, 5-year-old Taty'Ana Hughes, underwent surgery Tuesday, when doctors were able to use skin grafts. She suffered serious burns over 20 percent of her body.

Clark says her granddaughter has lost two toes but she was expected to lose more. The 5-year-old survived the fire that killed her four-year-old brother and two sisters, ages two and six, on Saturday, Jan. 4.

The funerals for the three victims will be held at noon Saturday, Jan. 11 at St. Stephens Baptist Church in Louisville, with the burial at Green Meadows Cemetery. The service is open to the public.

Clark has set up a new fund at Fifth Third Bank to help pay for funeral expenses.

To donate, go to any Fifth Third Bank location and make the donation to Dawn Marie Clark, 40219.
