LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Court proceedings have begun for a Fort Knox soldier accused of murdering a man in April.
Sergeant Marquinta Jacobs' court martial started at the post Thursday morning. Jacobs is charged with murder and aggravated assault in the death of 51-year-old Lloyd Gibert.
In a hearing in May of 2013, a witness testified that Jacobs claimed Gibert had been sleeping with his wife.
Investigators say Jacobs approached Gibert while he was in the parking lot of his employee and fired his gun six to eight times.
If convicted, Jacobs faces life in prison.
