U of L welcomes five athletes into hall of fame

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) - A big honor for five U of L athletes from the class of 2014.

They were inducted Saturday night into the hall of fame at the Brown and Williamson Club inside Papa John's Cardinal Stadium.

Baseball player Sean Green, softball player Tara Isable, football player Chris Redman, field hockey player Pip Sanders, and men's basketball player  DeJuan Wheat received the honor.

They all say it's a dream come true. "I watched them even when I was playing here and I've always respected each and every one of them and its a great honor," said DeJuan Wheat. 

I grew up in Louisville and I always wanted to play in Louisville" said Chris Redman, "and to be inducted into the hall of fame is something very special to me."

The class of 2014 were the first additions to the U of L Athletics Hall of Fame since 2011.
