LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The five women selected to serve as princesses for the 2014 Kentucky Derby Festival's Royal Court were introduced to the public Monday morning.
The ceremony was held at the Macy's at Oxmoor Center.
The KDF Princesses are as follows:
Morgan Cooksey of Louisville, Ky. -- Cooksey is a junior at the University of Louisville who is majoring in political science. Cooksey is a Cardinal Ambassador, a member of the Student Government Association and a Kentucky YMCA Leadership Training Conference facilitator, according to a news release.
Julia Springate of Louisville, Ky. -- Springate is a senior at Centre College, and a biology major. She serves on the Centre Student Senate and volunteers for several organizations, including the Salvation Army and the Harvesting Hope Food Pantry, according to a news release.
Eriauna Stratton of Louisville, Ky. -- Stratton is a senior at the University of Kentucky, majoring in elementary education. She is also a member of the National Society of Collegiate Scholars, an Academic Excellence Scholar and a Fulbright Scholar, according to a news release.
Grace Trimble of Winchester, Ky. -- Trimble is a political science major and a junior at the University of Kentucky. She serves on the UK Student Athlete Advisory Council and is a recipient of the United States Tennis Association Serves National Scholarship, according to a news release.
Grace Wainwright of Louisville, Ky. -- Wainwright is a senior majoring in bioengineering at the University of Louisville. Wainwright is a fashion blogger at asoutherndrawl.com, and a member of the Society of Women Engineers and a Dean's Scholar, according to a news release.
One of the five women will be crowned the Derby Festival Queen by a wheel spin at the annual Fillies Derby Ball on April 11 at the Galt House.
