Ind. residents to be hit with costs for last week's deep freeze

Posted: Updated:

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Last week's deep freeze will have many in Indiana reaching deep into their pockets.

Highway departments were hit hard with overtime and fuel costs as crews worked to clear snow-covered roads.

In Terre Haute, officials also face several towing bills from snowplows that got stuck.

While governments tally their costs from the storm, Hoosier residents are also looking at extra expenses for furnace repairs, unplanned hotel stays and towing fees.

Much of the state was buried under a foot of snow.
