LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Two Chase banks were robbed within 20 minutes of each other Monday morning, but police say the incidents were not related.

Police are looking for a white man between the ages of 45 and 50 who they say held up the Chase Bank on Preston Highway around 10:40 this morning.

About seven miles north, police say a black man in his 20s robbed the Chase Bank on Shelby Street.

"It's a little bit uncommon to have them that close together, but not unheard of by any means, especially this time of year," said Lt. Jennifer Coe of LMPD. "But yeah, they appear not to be related at all at this time."

Police say the man who robbed the bank on Shelby Street was temporarily detained. He was caught in the man trap between the bank and the parking lot, but escaped.

If you have any information about these robberies, call Louisville Metro Police at 574-LMPD.
