LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A Louisville woman is facing an assault charge after being accused of stabbing another woman several times during a fight.
According to an arrest report, it happened Jan. 12 around 7:30 p.m. in the 1500 block of W. Muhammad Ali Blvd. Police say that's where the victim was visiting a friend when she got into an argument with another woman, 18-year-old Stephanie Bobo.
As the verbal argument continued, the victim told police she and Bobo stepped outside to fight, and that's when Bobo allegedly pulled a knife and began stabbing and slashing the victim.
According to the arrest report, a witness separated the two women and police were called. The victim was taken to University Hospital where she was treated for serious knife wounds. During questioning, police say Bobo gave a recorded statement admitting to stabbing the victim, but claimed she "took the knife out of the victim's hand and defended herself."
