Ky. House committee passes measure to restore voting rights to felons

Posted: Updated:

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A Kentucky House committee passed the measure that would restore the voting rights of some felons who have served their sentences and met probation conditions.

Previous versions have passed in the House, but died in the Senate. Lawmakers are now hoping that the Senate will approve it this time.

The proposal excludes people convicted of intentional murder, rape, sodomy or sex offenses with a minor.
