Ky. Humane Society to offers pups for adoption in "puppy playoffs"

Posted: Updated:

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Grab the chips and dip, the hot wings and the drinks: the Super Bowl is just over two weeks away.

And while you're munching on chips and salsa, why not add a new family pet.

"Now is a great time to adopt," said Andrea Blair, the director of communications for the KY Humane Society. "A lot of people associate puppies with football, thanks to the Animal Planet's 'Puppy Bowl.' So we decided to have our own puppy playoff, so we have all of our puppies available for adoption on the playing field."

The pups don't quite understand the game of football, but playing around -- with or without the ball -- is fun enough.

Adoption prices vary for the pet you choose, but most run about $250. That amount includes microchipping, spaying and neutering, and up-to-date vaccinations.
