LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Eleven people have died in Indiana from the flu -- and that's a significant jump from the three deaths reported a week ago.

The State Department of Health says six deaths have happened in St. Joseph County, in the northern part of the state.

Officials say this season's flu strains are hitting young and middle-aged adults fairly hard. All but one of Indiana's deaths have been people between the ages of 25 and 64.

Health officials still urge residents to get flu vaccinations since the flu season can last until April.
