Rick Bozich of WDRB posts his weekly vote in the AP College Basketball Top 25 poll.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB ) – The beat goes on. Wisconsin started last week unbeaten and ranked third in the nation. The Badgers finished the week tied for fourth place (with Purdue) in the Big Ten.
Wisconsin wasn't the only Top 10 team to lose twice last week. Iowa State also stumbled twice. Ten other teams ranked in the Associated Press Top 25 took at least one loss.
We're left with three unbeatens – Syracuse, Arizona and Wichita State. The Orange should make it through another week. Their only game is at Miami Saturday – and the Hurricanes are 2-3 in the Atlantic Coast Conference. Arizona is also in good shape – home games with injured Colorado and Utah. Wichita State needs to win at Illinois State and Drake. Not a problem.
But the top of the poll is not an issue when you are trying to settle on a top 25. It's the bottom five-to-seven spots that are difficult to fill. I booted Baylor, Creighton, Oklahoma and Virginia, replacing them with Michigan, Kansas State, Duke and Gonzaga.
I moved Kentucky down one spot after the Wildcats lost in overtime at Arkansas, and moved Louisville up five spots after the Cardinals blasted Houston and delivered an impressive win at UConn Saturday.
