LMPD officer resigns following DUI charge

Posted: Updated:

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A Metro Police officer has resigned after he was charged with a DUI.

Court records say probationary officer Casey Skeens was impaired and driving erratically near South 3rd Street and Kentucky Street when he refused to pull over for fellow officers.

Police eventually arrested Skeens at a nearby apartment.

Skeens pleaded not guilty to felony fleeing and evading, reckless driving, operating a motor vehicle under the influence and other charges.

An LMPD spokesperson says Skeens was not driving his police cruiser at the time of the incident.
