Ind. bill would ban tanning for anyone under 16

Posted: Updated:

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Some Indiana lawmakers are trying to keep those under the age of 16 out of the tanning bed.

The Indiana state Senate is expected to vote on the bill Thursday afternoon.

Right now, children under 16 can use the tanning bed, if a parent is present. Those between the ages of 16 and 18 can tan alone, if a parent or guardian gives written permission.

If the bill passes the Senate, it will head to the House for a vote. If approved, it would have to be signed by the Governor, and would go into effect immediately.
