LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The family of an Indiana girl who was seriously injured in a boating accident is taking a parasailing company to court.

Alexis Fairchild, age 17, of Huntington, and her friend, Sidney Good, were hurt while parasailing in Florida last July. A rope that was holding the teens to a boat snapped, and strong winds slammed them into a building and a parked car.

The Coast Guard has said severe weather and the boat's distance from the shore were major factors in the accident.

The family is suing the parasailing company for more than $15,000.
