LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- One person died in a crash involving a van and a semi-truck in the southbound lanes of Interstate 65 during afternoon rush hour Monday. Traffic reopened in both directions more than three hours later, officials said.
Louisville Metro Police officials say the fatal accident occurred around 5:30 p.m. on the southbound lanes of the Kennedy Bridge. The crash appeared to involve the van rear-ending the semi truck. Metrosafe officials say one person is dead.
LMPD planned to brief reporters on the crash Monday evening. The coroner's office had not released the name of the person who died.
