LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Keith Kaiser gets artsy to help kick off the 2014 Arts Campaign.
The Fund for the Arts kicks off the 2014 Arts Campaign season with the Annual Arts Showcase and Campaign Kick-off, at noon, Tuesday, January 28th in the Brown Theatre.
It takes more than 2,500 practice hours, 300 performers and 12 acts to create the one hour program FREE of charge.
Barbara Sexton Smith, President & CEO of the Fund for the Arts and Mark Wheeler, Fund for the Arts 2014 Campaign Chairman will host.
Special guests include Mayor Greg Fischer, singer/songwriter Andrea Davidson, Lincoln Elementary Performing Arts School youth performers, Louisville Ballet dancers, Kentucky Opera Studio Artists, Louisville Orchestra musicians, singing sensation 2nd CHANCE and live action painters.
The Arts Showcase & Campaign Kickoff celebrates the beginning of the Fund for the Arts campaign each year, with more than 1,400 schoolchildren, community leaders, and patrons attending.
The showcase will take place at the Brown Theatre Tuesday, January 28th from noon to 1 p.m. and includes a free box lunch.

Fund for the Arts is the oldest united arts fund in the country and has generated more than $188 million since its establishment in 1949.
In 2013, the Fund for the Arts awarded 516 grants to 162 schools and community organizations throughout the region to provide financing for arts experiences and administrative support.
