LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) - Police have cited a man for littering after they say he illegally dumped the body of a dead animal at a Valero gas station dumpster on Valley Station Rd. late last year.
It was a discovery that was covered by local media outlets, including this news station.
Jamey Glenn Osterhoudt was arrested by authorities after they say he disposed of a deceased animal that was believed to be a coyote, next to a dumpster on Dec. 30 of last year, according to an arrest report.
According to police records, LMPD Animal Services received a report on a decapitated animal that had been abandoned on a concrete pad next to a locked dumpster.
Police received an anonymous tip that Osterhoudt had left the animal next to the dumpster.
Authorities interviewed Osterhoudt and he allegedly admitted in a written statement that his 14-year-old son killed the animal. Police say Osterhoudt then removed the coyote's head and tail in Jefferson County.
Authorities say Osterhoudt said he tried to locate a dumpster where he could get rid of the coyote. After he tried to open the dumpster and found it was locked, he allegedly left the animal's body at the scene.
