LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Louisville Metro Police say a man has been paralyzed after a Louisville suspect shot him multiple times in his home.

According to an arrest warrant, it happened Jan. 13.

That's when police say 22-year-old Dashawn Wright and an unidentified accomplice showed up at the victim's apartment and knocked on the door. According to the arrest report, Wright immediately started shooting as soon as the victim opened the door.

He was struck in the neck and back, police say.

The unidentified accomplice then entered the apartment, police say, and ordered another resident to the floor, taking his cash, car keys and cell phone. Both suspects then left in that person's Chrysler.

The man who was shot was taken to University Hospital, where police say it was determined that he would be paralyzed as a result of his injuries.

According to a police investigation, Wright used to live next door to the victims and regularly visits the apartment complex.

A warrant was issued for his arrest on Jan. 15. Wright was taken into custody Jan. 28, and charged with first degree robbery and attempted murder.
