LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A Louisville man has been arrested after police say he hit a 7-year-old in the face with a belt.

According to an arrest report, it happened on Jan. 5, 2013. Police say 26-year-old Stefon Robb was angry because the 7-year-old wet the bed. Police say Robb's girlfriend, who is the boy's mother, told Robb not to spank her child, then told the boy to say his brother scratched him.

A witness later noticed injuries to the boy's face and contacted police.

Police say the boy suffered a deep, red welt to his face that matched the pattern of the belt used.

A warrant was issued for Robb's arrest on Jan. 30, 2013. He was arrested on Jan. 28, 2014 -- almost a year later -- and charged with third degree criminal abuse, a misdemeanor.
