LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- LaGrange Police are warning residents about a phone scam.

In the past, the calls have had Jamaican area codes, and the caller tells the resident they've won millions of dollars, and a luxury vehicle. Now, some calls appear to be coming from area codes within the U.S.

The scammers are convincing people to send money. The callers fax documents that look very real, and send pictures of the vehicle they claim to be giving away.

The scammers appear to target the elderly in most cases.

If you think someone's trying to scam you, don't hesitate to call police.
