LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Investigators say it was a rape fantasy-turned murder.
Lisa Shuler is now taking a plea deal. In court Wednesday afternoon, she pleaded guilty to the murder of 49-year-old Charles Pierce. The plea deal comes with a sentence of 45 years in prison.
In May of last year, investigators say she invited Pierce into her home to play out a rape fantasy, then shot and killed him.
Investigators say Shuler told them Pierce had photographs from a previous sexual encounter that she did not want her husband to see. When Pierce was about to leave, investigators say she didn't want him to take the photos, so she shot him until the gun was empty.
The judge still has to sentence Shuler on March 5. Without the plea deal, she would have been eligible for up to 65 years in prison and a $10,000 fine for the murder charge.
