LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The mayor accused of misusing taxpayer money wants a new job.
Hodgenville Mayor Terry Cruse filed paperwork on Tuesday to run for LaRue County Sheriff.
The mayor is currently facing felony charges, stemming from allegations that he used the city gas card to fill up his personal car. He also faces two counts relating to alleged campaign contribution violations from his 2010 run for sheriff.
In a statement, Cruse says the investigation into his office is politically motivated from a desire to negatively impact his run for sheriff.
