Jagoe Homes to build new home for Watson family

MUHLENBERG COUNTY, Ky (WDRB) -- Some are calling it the Watson family tragedy.

All eleven family members were asleep inside their rural, western Kentucky home when a baseboard heater started a fire killing eight children and their mother.

But this enormous tragedy full of heartbreak is bringing stories of heroism.

It's said that Chad Watson, their father, ran back into the burning home three times to try and save his family.

He's now fighting for his life along with his daughter Kylie at a Nashville hospital.

They're the sole survivors.

The family's pastor Tim Burden tells WDRB Kylie was doing better Saturday, and Chad made small improvements.

A photo was posted to the Watson Family Fundraiser Facebook page showing a note from Kylie.

The note to her aunt said: "love you".

People who didn't even know the victims are posting messages of hope on the fundraiser Facebook page.

The page was launched Thursday and already has more than 12,000 likes.

Jagoe Homes out of Owensboro, Ky has stepped forward and committed to building a new home for Chad and Kylie.

"We thought it was a good idea and Muhlenberg County is right here in our backyard and we decided we would move forward with it," Scott Jagoe told WDRB.

Jagoe told WDRB the details will come with time but he hopes their efforts will make a difference for the Watsons who didn't have home owners or life insurance.

"It's just tragic and I think it's just the right thing to do," said Jagoe.

Depoy, Kentucky is where their home was.

It's a very small community in rural western Kentucky but people are grieving nationwide offering their condolences every way they know how.

Many are offering money.

Country superstars Kimberly, Reid and Neil Perry from The Band Perry have offered to pay for all nine funerals.

We're told they're also covering hotel expenses for the family while Chad and Kylie recover in the hospital.

To donate the Watson family, there are three options:

1. Old National Bank -- "Calvary Baptist Church Watson Family"

2. First Kentucky Bank -- "Watson Family Memorial Fund"

3. Commonwealth Community Bank -- "Calvary Baptist Church Watson Family Fund"
