Ford blames harsh weather for 7-percent sales drop

Posted: Updated:

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- It looks like the weather has put a damper on Ford's bottom line.

The automaker is blaming the harsh weather for its 7-percent sales decline last month.

Nearly every Ford brand vehicle saw sales fall from last January. Even sales from the company's bestseller -- the F-series truck -- was flat.

Ford is not alone: General Motors, Toyota and Volkswagen are blaming the cold, snowy weather from keeping buyers out of showrooms -- but Chrysler, Nissan and Subaru were able to buck the trend and report that sales were up.
