LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Louisville native Jared Wolfe is continuing his steady climb as a professional golfer...playing on the web.com tour beginning this month with his sights set on the PGA tour down the road.
Jared Wolfe is a Butler High School and Murray State University grad. A self-proclaimed late bloomer, he turned pro in 2010, just a couple of months after college graduation. He said he did ok playing mostly mini-tours, but a re-tooling of his swing and his body in the last few years paid dividends at the six-round final stage of qualifying in California in mid-December.
Wolfe has worked with Corey Taylor of Corey Taylor Sports Performance for about three years, which has helped him physically as well as mentally.
"My body felt great, I was able to calm down completely and was at complete peace about everything," said Wolfe. "I finished the last three rounds at 15 or 16 under. Corey and I have talked about it, that's when those guys that haven't had the conditioning and the mindset start to fade. That's when I put on the late charge and everything felt great, thankfully."
The web.com tour starts with events in Chile and Brazil and Panama before mostly settling into the United States. Once back in this country, Wolfe will often be joined at tournaments by his wife of six months, Kelsey. He credits her and his strong spirituality for his increased peace of mind on and off the course.
