BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (WDRB) -- Kentucky State Police in Bowling Green are asking for the public's help to find a man suspected of stealing cars.

According to a news release from the KSP post in Bowling Green, police are looking for 33-year-old Thomas Upton from Glasgow, Kentucky. Upton is described as a white male with blue eyes and brown hair, 6'1", and weighing approximately 190.

KSP officials say Upton is a suspect in as many as eight auto thefts throughout Barren, Hart, Laure and Warren Counties. He is believed to be armed and extremely dangerous.

If you see Upton or know where he is, do not approach him. Instead, call Kentucky State Police immediately at 1-800-222-5555 or dial 911.

KSP officials warn residents not to leave vehicles running while unattended. This includes warming the vehicle in the driveways in the morning or while inside service stations. Police say some cars were stolen because drivers had left the keys in them.
