LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Singer Brandy Neelly is a step closer to living her "American Idol" dream.
The 19 year old Louisville native made it through Hollywood week and the dreaded group rounds. She's in the top 77 contestants. On February 12 and 13, the Idol judges pair that down to the top 31, who make it to the live stage shows.
Neelly tells WDRB that she still gets nervous before hitting the stage. She says that the music just pushes her through and takes over as she performs for the judges. She joked, saying that when she walks on stage she thinks the "judges are so pretty."
The Idol contestant says she was grateful her group was able to work together as a team and impress the judges. Neelly says that she and her group were overjoyed as they were called through to the next round.
Neelly just finished her first semester at Eastern Kentucky University studying the "music industry with a minor in management."
It's the fourth trip to Hollywood on American Idol for the North Oldham High School graduate. Her first experience in Hollywood was when she was just 15.
With a little more experience, Neelly hopes to impress the judges and show what she has to offer on her fourth trip to Hollywood. Next up for Neelly is the solo round in Hollywood.
You can watch her journey on American Idol on WDRB on Wednesdays and Thursdays at 8 p.m.
