ISP: Ice, snow caused 2 school bus accidents

Posted: Updated:

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Indiana State Police say snow and ice contributed to two school bus accidents Friday in southern Indiana.

Police say the first accident happened in Washington County at 9:30 Friday morning, when a minivan slid on a patch of ice on Branaman Road and hit a Salem Community School bus.

ISP officials say the 70-year-old bus driver and three children on the bus were not injured.

The second crash happened at 3:30 p.m. in Henryville, when police say the driver of West Clark School Corporation Bus #210 slid off Forestry Drive and into a ditch.

Police say 28 children were on the bus but no one was injured. They were transferred to another school bus.
