Louisville man killed attempting to help crash victims

Posted: Updated:

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A Louisville man was killed while trying to help others who were involved in a central Ky. crash.

The incident happened Sunday night on Interstate 75 in Madison County, Ky. Police believe 56-year-old Bryan Mangan from South Bend, Ind., had been drinking when he lost control of his SUV and crashed into a guard rail, which caused his truck to overturn.

That resulted in several other crashes. Jeffrey Campbell, 30, of Louisville, was not involved in any of the crashes, but police say he stopped to help, when he was hit and killed by a car.

A 22-year-old from Richmond, Ky., also died. Another man was taken to the hospital.
Mangan is charged with DUI and driving on a suspended license.
