LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The 25th Thunder Over Louisville celebration will take a look back at the history of the popular fireworks show.
Wednesday morning, the Kentucky Derby Festival announced that this year's theme will be "Throwback Thunder." The soundtrack will highlight songs from each year of the annual show.
Horseshoe Southern Indiana, KentuckyOne Health, LG&E, Meijer and UPS will all be returning as sponsors for the event, and Valero will join them this year.
McDonald's will sponsor the Thunder Funder program and will donate a portion of its local drink sales to support Thunder over Louisville.
"Thunder has grown, and with the sponsorship additions that we've had and also the sponsorship through Thunder Funder and Ford's Thunder on the Ground and the partnerships that we've done with these great folks, it makes risk taking a little easier," said Mike Berry, Kentucky Derby Festival president.
This year's Thunder over Louisville fireworks and air show will be held on April 12.
