LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Louisville Metro Police say they've arrested a man accused of stealing a motorized wheelchair.

According to an arrest report, it happened early Thursday morning inside a lobby at the Dosker Manor housing complex.

Police say 53-year-old William Morris took the motorized wheelchair from the lobby without the victim's permission or knowledge. He then allegedly took it up an elevator and into one of the rooms there.

The theft was captured on surveillance video, according to police.

The chair was worth $1,800.

When confronted about the alleged crime, Morris admitted to taking the motorized chair, according to the arrest report.

The chair was recovered and returned to the victim.

Morris was arrested and charged with theft by unlawful taking.
