LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- More than a dozen University of Louisville med school students cut off their hair for a good cause: raising money for the St. Baldrick's Foundation.
Proceeds go to childhood cancer research.
Most of the girls involved had several inches of their hair cut off -- but one girl decided to go all the way.
"I thought it was a great cause," said Caitlin Gambrell, a U of L med student. Gambrell added that when she saw "all those boys being bald," she decided that "there needs to a be a girl there."The goal was to raise $10,000.
This is the third year U of L medical students have hosted this event.
