LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The French Lick Casino has reopened after a power surged forced the southern Indiana attraction to close for several hours Thursday afternoon.
A spokeswoman says what is believed to be "a power surge" knocked computer systems offline.
That included the casino gaming floor, so gamblers had to stop and wait for the systems to be restored.
The casino opened once workers reviewed and tested the systems to make sure they were operating properly.
Casino spokesperson Dyan Duncan released the following statement Thursday evening:
"French Lick Resort would like to announce that the casino is fully operational. Earlier today, the area experienced what we believe to be a power surge and caused our building systems to go offline. Out of an abundance of caution, we did a thorough review and tested our systems to make sure everything was operating properly. We are thankful to our guests and appreciate their patience during this interruption."
