Fire survivor Chad Watson released from hospital

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The man who survived a deadly fire in Muhlenberg Co. that killed his wife and eight of his children has been released from the hospital, according to the family pastor.

Calvary Baptist Church Pastor Tim Burden told WDRB that Chad Watson was released from Vanderbilt University Medical Hospital in Nashville, Tenn.

Chad Watson and his daughter Kylie survived a fire Jan. 30 that killed his wife, LaRae "Nikki" Watson, and eight children. KSP investigators say an electric baseboard heater caused the fire.

Burden also says that 11-year-old Kylie is expected to be released from the hospital within the next few days.

A Celebration of Life service will be held for the family Feb. 23 at 2 p.m., in Muhlenberg County High School's Felix Martin Hall. Burden says Chad Watson will speak at the event.
