The recipe for Derby Pie has been a closely guarded secret for the past 60 years.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Louisville native Brandy Neelly advanced to the next round of "American Idol" Thursday night.
Neelly is among the Top 30 contestants and will begin competing live next week in Hollywood for a spot in the Top 13.
WDRB's Tamara Evans joined Neelly's friends and family at Bistro 42 as the announcement was made Thursday evening.
The 19-year-old attends Eastern Kentucky University, and although her family moved to Cincinnati last year, she still considers Louisville her home.
This is the fourth time she has auditioned on the show, and her family says she has advanced to Hollywood each time. But Neelly has never been this close to the Top 13 before.
And now, Louisville viewers will have a chance to vote for the hometown contestant after watching her performance.
She will be competing live next Tuesday night, along with 14 other female contestants. The male contestants will perform Wednesday night, and on Thursday the contestants will learn who made the Top 13.
