LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Snow flakes began falling in Louisville early Friday afternoon, and the appreciation has transitioned into a wintry mix.
Crews in Metro Louisville have spent the past 24 hours preparing for the expected snowfall, pre-treating the roads Thursday night.
Now they are waiting and on the lookout for any trouble spots.
"After we complete the routes, we monitor the situation and see if more treatment is needed," said Metro Public Works spokesperson Harold Adams. "If it's needed then we go back and treat some more."
Adams says the rain that fell ahead of the snow should not wash away or affect the treatment.
