LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Police are investigating a shooting incident that happened on Saturday night in the Strathmoor Manor area.
LMPD spokeswoman Carey Klain says police responded to a robbery on Taylorsville Road at around 10:30 Saturday night.
After searching the area, she says police stopped a car near the intersection of Strathmoor Blvd. and Dundee Road. When police approached the car, they realized that the driver matched the description of a man who was wanted for nine previous robberies in the area.
Police say when officers approached the car, the suspect shot and killed himself. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police have not yet identified the man, but describe him as a white male in his 20's or 30's who drove a white pickup truck. They say he was alone in the truck at the time.
The robbery units and public integrity units are investigating the incident.
