Robbery suspect was wanted in string of incidents near Highlands

Posted: Updated:

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The Jefferson County Coroner has not released the man's name, but LMPD says these are pictures of him from a robbery at a Marathon station on Poplar Level Road. They say he's also responsible for at least nine others.

Saturday night police responded to a robbery on Taylorsville Road and began searching the area when they saw a suspicious car.

Officers noticed the man matched the description from the robbery and stopped the vehicle just a block from Atherton High School on Dundee Road.

Police say the suspect then took out a hand gun and shot himself, he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Less than a month ago, a  suspect in a bank robbery took his own life after he was confronted by police in Cherokee Park.
