LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Police say a man was arrested Friday after an attempted carjacking in St. Matthews. He also broke into two homes, according to police records.

Roderick Litchford was arrested by police after they say he attempted to carjack a victim on Winchester Rd. He allegedly also broke into homes on Waterford Circle and Winchester Rd.

Police say Litchford fit a description that was provided to police by the victim of the attempted carjacking. The victim was able to positively identify Litchford.

According to an arrest report, Litchford also kicked open the door to a house on Waterford St. Once the door was open, Litchford was met by a resident of the home. The resident told authorities that he hit Litchford in the head, and that Litchford then fled from the house on foot.

Litchford also allegedly entered a residence on Winchester Rd. He was also met by the residence's homeowner in the hallway. He then fled on foot.

Litchford was arrested and is charged with burglary and attempted auto theft.
