Jury selection for Gibson's second murder trial to begin June 2

Posted: Updated:

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Convicted killer William Clyde Gibson is preparing for a second murder trial -- this time for the murder of Stephanie Kirk.

Tuesday morning, a judge set a pretrial hearing date for the second of William Clyde Gibson's three murder trials.

Kirk's body was found buried in Gibson's back yard in 2012. Gibson will attend the pretrial conference on March 17.

Floyd Country prosecutors will begin jury selection in Vanderberg County on June 2.  They expect that to last about three days. Jurors will then return to Floyd County for the trial on June 16.

Gibson was sentenced to the death penalty in November for killing Christine Whitis.
