LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) - A crime notification was issued Monday after two female students were accosted in two separate incidents on Sunday and Monday at the University's Belknap Campus, according to U of L spokesperson Mark Hebert.

Officials do not believe the incidents were related.

In the Monday incident, a female victim was going to her car in the parking lot of the Papa John's Cardinal Stadium at around 2 p.m. The victim observed a suspect stealing the license plate from the back of her vehicle. The suspect then fled from the scene.

In the process of fleeing, the male assailant hit the victim with his car knocking her to the ground. The victim did not receive serious bodily injuries and did not seek medical attention.

The victim in this case described her attacker as a 20-25 year-old white male. The suspect was wearing a black toboggan, dark sunglasses, black jacket, and black jeans. The suspect was driving a gold Dodge Intrepid.

In the Sunday incident, a female student was mugged in the parking lot of a gas station. The victim was walking from the gas station to Bettie Johnson Hall at around 11:45 p.m. The suspect approached the victim to ask for directions. The suspect, who was reportedly unarmed, grabbed the wallet belonging to the victim through physical force and fled.

The suspect in this incident was described as a 22 or 23-year-old black male, 6'1 or 6'2, with short hair. He was wearing a black hoodie and black sweatpants.
