The Mardi Gras parties are in full swing in New Orleans and points south. But you can get into the spirit with a few simple projects.

D.I.Y. Louisville's Julee Lair is demonstrating some bright and colorful masks. And Craft E. Magee is sharing a kid-friendly way to make mini King Cakes from refrigerator cinnamon dough and icing.

Mardi Gras climaxes on Fat Tuesday, which is March 4, 2014.
