LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) --
An inmate died this morning at Louisville Metro Corrections.
Robert W. Brown, 49 of Louisville, was pronounced dead in his cell just before 8 a.m. by Louisville Metro EMS.
arrested Saturday night. He was given a medical evaluation by Correct Care Solutions before being sent to University Hospital for medical attention.
He was released from the hospital and returned to Metro Corrections just after two this morning for booking. Brown was booked on charges of public intoxication, drinking alcohol in public and for contempt of court.
Police say Brown was observed standing in his cell just 20 minutes prior to being found unresponsive.
According to police an autopsy will be performed and a review by Louisville Metro Police's Public
Integrity Unit have already begun. Correct Care will also conduct
its own review.
