Southern Indiana company looking to hire

JEFFERSONVILLE, Ind. (WDRB) -- A Southern Indiana call center is looking to hire a couple of hundred workers.

This as Metro Louisville's unemployment rate continues to decline, with the rate now at 6.8 percent.

Accent Marketing moved its call center into a brand new building in May of 2012 in Jeffersonville from its old location in New Albany.

It opened with about 400 workers.

Soon that number will grow as it plans to hire about 200 additional workers.

"We have some new customers and clients and some of our current clients are growing as well," says the engagement center director Scott Van Stratten.

Accent Marketing processes ordering and warranty claims for a number of high profile companies including General Electric, Time-Warner Cable, and LG&E.

Because business has been so good lately, Accent is in the process of hiring more employees.

The full time jobs include benefits. They start at $9 an hour, but after training increase to $9.50 with further incentive bonuses based on performance.

Applicants need to be at least 18 years old and have a high school diploma.

"And what would definitely be a good opportunity for us is someone with previous customer service experience," explains Van Stratten , "that would be a plus, sales experience and technical experience as well."

Accent Marketing, with its headquarters in Jeffersonville, has about 2,500 workers in eight locations throughout the country and abroad.

It has joined with other call centers pledging to bring such jobs back to America.

Accent is holding a job fair this Wednesday, February 26, from 9 a.m. until 6 p.m. at its call center at 4550 Town Center Boulevard just off Veterans Parkway in Jeffersonville.

"Show up on Wednesday, meet with us, tour our facility, and let's get you started," says Van Stratten.
