LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) - A Louisville man was arrested after police say he took money from a man.
Police arrested Daniel Bentley Monday afternoon on West Jefferson St. after they say he stole $400 in cash from a man using force, according to an arrest report. The victim was reportedly carrying the money to pay Bentley for the purchase of a vehicle.
Bentley was riding in a car with his 4-and 5-year-old children, according to police. The robbery victim was driving the vehicle. When the victim stopped the car, Bentley allegedly reached over and grabbed the money from the victim's pocket by force, tearing the victim's shirt, according to police records.
Bentley then fled the vehicle on foot, leaving behind his two children in the car with the victim, police say.
The robbery victim then contacted LMPD and reported the incident. Bentley's children were returned to their mother by LMPD.
Bentley is charged with robbery and endangering the welfare of a minor.
