LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Louisville Metro Police say someone working out of a Preston Hwy. restaurant was selling more than just BBQ.
According to an arrest report, officers executed a search warrant at Big L's BBQ at 6101 Preston Hwy., just north of Fern Valley Road, as part of a drug investigation.
While inside, they allegedly opened the locked office belonging to 48-year-old Lawrence Jones, Jr. (Jones had the key to the office, according to the arrest report.) Police say the office contained powder cocaine, marijuana and prescription drugs, "all packaged for sale/distribution."
Police say they also found digital scales, sandwich baggies "used for narcotics sale" and a substantial amount of cash.
A handgun was also found in Jones' office, according to the arrest report. Police say Jones is already a convicted felon and cannot have access to firearms.
Jones was arrested and charged with trafficking in a controlled substance, trafficking in marijuana and possession of a handgun by a convicted felon.
